| The Milton Marlin Swim Team ("MMST") is a relatively small but dynamic youth sports group located in Milton, Ontario.
The Team was formed as a patented not-for-profit competitive swim team in 1990. Parent volunteers provide the manpower for the team’s administration. Paid professional coaches provide the manpower for coaching the novice and competitive swimmers.
MMST provides a full range of instruction and training in the "sport of swimming". Our programs are primarily geared toward girls and boys aged 7 through 18. Since its inception, the Team has had the honour of retaining highly trained and respected coaches. MMST coaches have developed and delivered competitive programs that proudly boast Provincial and National medallists. Our coaches are members of CSCTA (Canadian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association) and are NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) trained.
While the Marlins continue to be considered a small team with only 52 competitive swimmers, we are consistently ranked as one of the top 20 teams in Ontario. In 2002, we won the Division III Team Championships in Etobicoke and the following year, won the Division II Team Championship in Thunder Bay. In 2004, we finished 13th (of 18) in the Division I Team Championship in Brantford and moved up one position to 14th in Nepean the following year. In 2006, we broke into the top 10 with a 10th place finish. Also in 2006, we finished 35th (out of 175) at the Junior National Championships in Calgary. The team has also won the High Points Award at the Junior Provincial Championships in 2003, 2004 & 2005.
